Mechanical Movement Care,
One Wheel at a Time
Durianwor Bench attends to the gear trains, bracelets, and histories of mechanical watches. Each piece is received on its own terms — no rushing, no guesswork.
Services at the Bench
Three considered offerings, each designed around a specific need. The studio works with mechanical movements only and does not stock or supply parts for quartz calibres.
Wheel Train Inspection & Cleaning
A bench service focused on the gear train of a mechanical movement. The studio inspects each wheel and pinion under magnification for tooth wear and pivot condition, then cleans components in a multi-stage bath and lubricates pivots with calibre-appropriate oils.
- Pivot wear and contamination review
- Multi-stage component cleaning
- Calibre-appropriate lubrication
- Timing verification on calibration stand
Bracelet Sizing & Link Storage
A short service intended to size a bracelet to the owner's wrist while preserving removed links in a small archival envelope. Removed links are labelled with the bracelet reference and the date of work for future reference.
- Symmetric link removal where feasible
- Clasp seating confirmation
- Spring bar refit
- Archival storage of removed links
Watch History Conversation
An informational session where an owner discusses the publicly available history of a particular reference, calibre family, or brand era with the studio. The session references published literature and is intended for owners who wish to understand their piece in a broader horological context.
- Reference and calibre background
- Publicly available literature review
- Brand era context
- Conversational, not formal
Why Owners Bring Their Pieces Here
A small bench means deliberate attention — not a high-volume shop where pieces move quickly and notes go unread.
Magnification-Level Attention
Every pivot and tooth surface is reviewed under optics before any cleaning or lubrication is applied.
Parts Retention on Record
Removed bracelet links are stored in labelled archival envelopes — a small detail that matters when a piece passes to another generation.
Calibre-Appropriate Oils
The studio selects lubricants matched to the specific calibre rather than applying a single oil across all movements.
Transparent Communication
Owners are informed when broader fatigue is observed, so a decision about scope can be made before work proceeds.
Horological Depth
The studio's knowledge of calibre families and reference histories is available as a conversational session — unhurried and without a sales agenda.
Central Kuala Lumpur Location
The studio is situated in the commercial heart of Kuala Lumpur, accessible by public transport and close to the financial district.
Your Watch Has Something to Say
Whether it is running inconsistently, needs to fit a different wrist, or you simply wish to understand it better — the bench is available. Send a note to start the conversation.
